Strength in Weakness

Read through this slowly- maybe more than once and let God's word really soak in.

2 Corinthians 12:7-10 (Message Version of the Bible)

Because of the extravagance of those revelations, and so I wouldn't get a big head, I was given the gift of a handicap to keep me in constant touch with my limitations. Satan's angel did his best to get me down; what he in fact did was push me to my knees. No danger then of walking around high and mighty! At first I didn't think of it as a gift, and begged God to remove it. Three times I did that, and then he told me,
My grace is enough; it's all you need.
My strength comes into its own in your weakness.

Once I heard that, I was glad to let it happen. I quit focusing on the handicap and began appreciating the gift. It was a case of Christ's strength moving in on my weakness. Now I take limitations in stride, and with good cheer, these limitations that cut me down to size—abuse, accidents, opposition, bad breaks. I just let Christ take over! And so the weaker I get, the stronger I become.

This verse has gotten me through a lot- so often I personally feel weakened by this world. Like I'm not enough, and I never will be. But that's the beauty of God's grace- we were never meant to be enough, but God is always enough. He is perfect in every way- his plans may seem crazy to us at times, but God is so incredible that he will never make sense to us. We just have to trust that He has plan, because he's told us he has a plan and that he will work for our good if we just trust Him. And he's saying it here- God will make you stronger through your weaknesses. That's a pretty crazy idea too when you think about it- but it's God's promise to us and God never fails.

So pray about it- whatever God's laid on this heart through this passage , talk to him about it- let him know how you feel and what you want- because guess what? God loves you unconditionally- whether you're furious with him or happy with Him- He loves you all the same. And he wants to hear from you- so much more than you'll ever know.

Then live it out. Go through out your day- not weighed down by your weaknesses, but empowered by them! God's working in you to do something great, and he's changing you everyday to make you stronger.

I hope everyone has an awesome day, and I'm praying for you! God Bless :)
